Amy Smith

Teacher

Amy is an Infant and Toddler teacher in the Nest of Wonder classroom. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Child Maltreatment and Advocacy, from Pennsylvania State University in 2018. She also earned a Master of Edu-cation degree in Special Education, with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis, from Penn State Graduate School in 2020. Amy has past experience working at a center in her hometown of Lehighton, PA where she was an assistant group teacher for children ranging from 6 weeks to 10 years old. This is where she learned how strong her desire to help children learn really was. Her focus is incorporating big body movement into learning and believes child-led curriculum threads help keep children engaged. She also looks for any and every opportunity to celebrate children's diverse backgrounds and integrate it into their learning and the classroom. In her off time, she enjoys exercising, cooking, baking, and hanging out with her fiancé and their dog, Otto.
