Skyla graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Human Development Family Studies, focusing most of her studies on the development of children. She strives to give children the best care for a healthy development. Having the opportunity to intern and work closely with the Bennett Family Center for two years helped her find her niche in child care. It also equipped her with the skills and qualities to be a positive and trusting role model/teacher for children.
In 2014, she transitioned to Hort Woods and found that she could grow even more working in the infant and toddler classroom. Having this experience in child care helped her gain a different perspective on the best ways children learn. Getting down on their level and seeing the fun and imaginary world they perceive is sometimes the only way to understand how they learn best. Outside of work, she spends her time drawing, hiking, camping, and playing guitar.
